DURBAN CITY FC & NEDBANK HAND OVER NEW SPORTS COURT AT OCEAN VIEW PRIMARY

Durban City FC and Nedbank officially handed over a new multipurpose sports court at Ocean View Primary School in Chatsworth on Tuesday, with representatives from the Premier Soccer League, The Sports Trust and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture also in attendance.

The court was delivered through Nedbank’s community initiative linked to the Nedbank Cup, with Durban City FC selecting Ocean View Primary as its beneficiary following the Club’s 2026 Nedbank Cup triumph.

The new court will provide learners with a space to play soccer, netball and other sporting codes, as well as take part in a range of activities at the school.

Speaking on behalf of Durban City FC, Sponsorship Manager Tutu Ntuli said the Club wanted its Nedbank Cup success to benefit the community that supports the team.

“When Durban City FC won the Nedbank Cup in May, we knew that a victory like this belongs to more than just the Club. It belongs to the community that stands behind us, and we wanted to give something back.”

Ntuli encouraged the learners to make full use of the new court, highlighting the role sport can play in teaching discipline, teamwork and resilience.

“This court is yours. Use it, respect it and look after it. Sport teaches us discipline, teamwork and resilience, and those are values that will take you far in life.”

As part of the handover, Durban City FC also presented Oceanview Primary with a signed Nedbank Cup commemorative shirt.

The Club thanked Nedbank and all partners involved in delivering the facility and congratulated the learners and school community on the new sports court.
