Durban City Football Club is delighted to officially announce the appointment of Gavin Hunt as the Club’s new Head Coach ahead of the 2025 /2026 Betway Premiership Season.
With a distinguished career spanning more than two decades at the top level of South African Football, Hunt brings a wealth of experience, having won multiple league titles and domestic trophies. His strong leadership style and results driven approach aligns perfectly with Durban City’s ambitions as we prepare for the upcoming 2025/2026 Betway Premiership Season.
Club Chairman, Farook Kadodia expressed his confidence in the new appointment;

From a young age, football has been more than just a sport to me it has been a source of purpose, focus, and peace. Every time I step onto the field, especially as a midfielder, I feel completely in my element. The noise of the outside world fades away, and all that matters is the game.
Football has taught me discipline, resilience, and teamwork. As a midfielder, I’ve learned to see the bigger picture, to stay calm under pressure, and to connect every part of the team. I carry these lessons with me on and off the pitch.
