DURBAN CITY PREPARE FOR FIRST KZN DERBY MEETING

As Durban City FC prepares for their first-ever KZN derby in the Betway Premiership against Golden Arrows at Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday evening (7:30pm kick-off), the team approaches the occasion with measured optimism after securing positive results in their opening fixtures. 

Attacking midfielder Haashim Domingo, instrumental in the team’s early performances, shared his thoughts on their Premiership start: 

“I think we, we started very well. We executed the coaches’ plans and the technical staff’s plans very well. I think what will be very important for us is to be consistent, to persevere, and to continue putting in the hard work. I think that really helped us a lot, with the start of the campaign.” 

Reflecting on the team’s approach, Domingo added: 

“I think in the first two games, what we did really well was that we maintained our mentality. Our never-give-up spirit. We played exactly to the coaches’ plans, and I think that really helped us. That’s what we did right in those first two games. You know, the mentality, the winning mentality, the fight, and the desire to win.” 

Looking ahead to the derby encounter, Domingo acknowledged both the occasion and the challenge: 

“It’s always tough no matter who the teams are. I think we’ve analysed what Golden Arrows can do and what they will bring to the game. We will definitely be prepared for that. But any derby is difficult, and it’ll be an interesting one. My thoughts on Golden Arrows are that they have a very experienced coach. The players are very energetic; they work hard.” 

The midfielder concluded with a message to supporters: 

“My message to supporters is to come out in numbers, support the boys, and be our 12th man out there. We will definitely play to make you proud and to make you enjoy the game as well. So I urge everyone to come out and support the boys. God willing, we will bring three points and make you happy.” 

Tuesday’s match presents another opportunity for Durban City FC to continue their Premiership journey, with the historic derby atmosphere at Chatsworth Stadium adding to the occasion.
