AUTATA: DURBAN CITY FC SECURES SIGNATURE OF SA U20 CAPTAIN PATRICK ON LONG-TERM DEAL

Durban City FC is delighted to announce the signing of South Africa Under-20 National Team captain, Patrick Autata, on a five-year deal from Cape Town City FC.

The 20-year-old central midfielder, who grew up in Brackenhurst in Johannesburg, arrives with a promising reputation for leadership and midfield dominance. His impressive performances for TS Galaxy’s youth structures and later in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) landed him a move to Cape Town City where also featured for their reserve side.

Autata, currently in camp with Amajita preparing for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, brings international pedigree to the squad, having captained the side to glory at the U20 AFCON tournament staged in Egypt in May.

Club Chairman, Farook Kadodia, expressed his excitement about the acquisition.

“Signing a player of Patrick’s calibre and character on a long-term contract is a statement of our intent. He embodies exactly what we are building at Durban City: youth, talent, and strong leadership,” Kadodia said.

“This speaks to our commitment to investing in and providing a platform for South Africa’s most promising young players to thrive,” he added.

Autata spent some time integrating with the club in Durban before heading off to the U20 camp.

He becomes the latest addition to the squad, following in the footsteps of Thabo Nodada, Kyle Jurgens, Jean Lwamba Darren Keet, and Haashim Domingo.
