Durban City FC travel to Burundi this Sunday for the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup First Preliminary Round against Rukinzo FC, with the Citizens taking a 1–0 lead into the return fixture.
City secured the victory at Moses Mabhida Stadium last Sunday and will now travel to Bujumbura.
The trip to Burundi will be another historic moment in Durban City FC’s history, with the Club set to play its first competitive match outside South Africa.
With a 1–0 lead from the first leg, the Citizens now have the task of seeing out the tie in Burundi.
Khalil Ben Youssef believes the week’s preparation has put the team in a good position ahead of the return leg.
“It will be a difficult game. Rukinzo are a good team, and we know what they can do, especially going forward. We have worked properly during the week and we are ready for the game,” said Ben Youssef.
The Citizens now turn their attention to Sunday’s return leg as they look to secure their place in the next round of the competition.
