DURBAN CITY UNVEILS HERITAGE THIRD KIT, HONOURING A LEGACY REBORN

Durban City Football Club is proud to officially unveil its new heritage third kit, a design crafted by sports brand Lotto that masterfully bridges the club’s storied past with its ambitious future.

The kit was revealed through an exclusive photoshoot overlooking the Durban skyline, capturing players in a style that is both casual and emblematic of the club’s renewed identity.

Drawing direct inspiration from the original Durban City FC, a celebrated force in South African football that claimed two National Professional Soccer League titles (1982, 1983) and captured the hearts of fans.

The design incorporates classic aesthetic cues that honour the team’s golden era. Each detail serves as a tribute to the legacy and spirit of the players who defined a generation adorning the blue and white hoops.

This launch is deeply symbolic of the club’s journey. In 2024, the historic Durban City FC was reborn through a strategic rebranding, returning this legendary name to the Betway Premiership after successfully winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

This kit is a statement of intent, a visual commitment to honouring that illustrious history while forging a new path forward in top-flight football.

“This jersey is more than fabric, it is a symbol of where we come from and where we are determined to go, Yolanda Bukani, Brand and Commercial Manager said.

“Lotto has excelled in weaving our rich history into a modern design that every supporter can wear with pride. It connects the legends of the original Durban Blues with the exciting future we are building today in the Betway Premiership. This is our heritage, reimagined for a new generation.”

The new heritage third kit, manufactured by Lotto, will be available at the club’s next home match against Magesi on 27 September.

The kit will retail at R699.
