Durban City FC return to Betway Premiership action on Saturday with one of the league’s toughest assignments ahead, as they travel to Royal Bafokeng Stadium to face table-toppers Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Citizens head into the encounter following their Carling Knockout exit at the hands of Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday.
Their attention now turns to the league, where they will be looking to put the cup disappointment behind them and return to winning ways in the Premiership Standing in their way is a Sundowns side that has set the early pace in the Betway Premiership this season.
The Brazilians lead the standings with 23 points from nine matches and will be looking to extend their advantage at the top. The Citizens currently sit 10th on the Betway Premiership table with seven points.
They will be targeting all three points on Saturday as they look to move up the standings and close the gap on the teams above them The two teams last met in April 2026 at Chatsworth Stadium, where Sundowns edged the Citizens 1–0. Durban City will now be looking to put that defeat behind them and claim a positive result against the league leaders on Saturday.
