Despite a 3-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns over the weekend, Durban City FC remains fifth in the Betway Premiership after seven matches, a position that reflects a strong start to the season.
Head coach Gavin Hunt kept his focus firmly on the present after the match, emphasizing the need to take things one game at a time rather than looking too far down the line.
“I don’t think you should actually look at the end line,” said Hunt.
“You should just look at the next game, and we’ll try and plot from there. At a club like ours, we have to play the next game and try to get the most out of it, “Hunt said.
Stellenbosch have not found it smooth sailing, despite finishing as runners-up in the MTN8. They occupy 13th spot in the Betway Premiership with just one win in seven matches.
“They’re not having the best of runs. But that can also happen to anybody,” Hunt said.
“We’ll dust ourselves off and approach it as we have to go along. But I say we got to try and get something from our away games. At home we are good, we’ll give anybody a go,” added.
For Hunt and his side, the message is clear: reset, refocus, and prepare for another tough encounter.
