DLADLA: NO TIME TO DWELL AS FOCUS SHIFTS TO DERBY

Head coach Pitso Dladla has urged his players to stay focused following Durban City FC’s recent away fixture against Kaizer Chiefs, with attention now on this weekend’s KwaZulu-Natal derby versus Richards Bay FC.

City travelled to FNB Stadium hoping to extend their strong run of form, but the team’s focus quickly shifts to the next challenge as preparations begin for Sunday’s provincial showdown.

For Dladla, the focus is on the derby, with the squad fully aware of the intensity and expectations of such a fixture.

“Of course, the result is disappointing, but football doesn’t give you much time to dwell on it,” said City’s tactician.

“The most important thing now is that we regroup as a team. These matches are always special, and the players understand what it means for the club and our supporters.”

Durban City FC has enjoyed a strong campaign this season, remaining among the top sides in the Betway Premiership while also securing a place in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup. With the derby approaching, the team is determined to deliver a strong response on home soil.

“Derby matches bring a different kind of energy,” Dladla added. “We know what is at stake. It now about getting ready and giving everything on the pitch.”

All eyes will be on Sunday’s KZN derby as City aims to make its supporters proud.
