DURBAN CITY FC TARGET RETURN TO WINNING WAYS AT SESHEGO

Durban City FC will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Seshego Stadium on Sunday, 19 April, to face Magesi FC, following consecutive narrow defeats in their last two matches.

The Citizens head into the match looking for a response after back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows respectively.

Despite the narrow margins, the focus this week has been on regrouping and getting back to what has worked for the team throughout the season.

Goalkeeper Darren Keet has stressed the importance of getting back to the team’s defensive strength, which has been a key part of their success this season.

“We’ve built our season on being solid at the back. That’s our foundation, and we need to get back to that.”

He added that the emphasis in training has been on restoring confidence within the squad and working on key areas in both defence and attack.

“It’s about putting in the work, staying positive, and making sure we’re ready to perform on the day.”

Sunday’s fixture is expected to present a physical challenge, with Magesi FC known for their intensity and direct approach, particularly in a compact playing environment.

Keet acknowledged the demands of the contest, stressing the need for the team to match that physicality while maintaining focus on their game plan.

“We know what kind of game to expect. It will be physical, and we must match that, but also focus on what we are capable of.”

Despite the recent setbacks, Durban City remains firmly positioned among the top sides in the league standings, with the team showing consistency throughout the season.

With the campaign entering a decisive phase, the Citizens will be determined to deliver a disciplined performance and return to winning ways on the road.
